Project scope
This project focused on transforming an outdated and dark kitchen into a bright, modern and functional space that would complement the overall grandeur of the house. The primary goal was to create a kitchen that felt open and inviting while seamlessly integrating with the home’s existing architectural style. This was achieved by extending the kitchen area and incorporating expansive roof windows that dramatically increased the amount of natural light in the space, giving it an airy, open feel. A garden-facing window seat was added to enhance the connection between the interior and exterior spaces. Despite budget constraints, high-quality materials were used to maintain a luxurious feel, such as cladding the PVC-framed glass roof with oak. Additionally, the project included upgrading the family and guest bathrooms to a sleek, contemporary standard, further elevating the home’s aesthetic.
The kitchen’s transformation successfully achieved a brighter, more welcoming space that serves as the heart of the home and is perfect for family time together. The extension and expansive roof windows significantly improved natural light and created a spacious, airy atmosphere, enhancing the kitchen’s overall appeal. The underfloor heating and radiators ensured year-round comfort. At the same time, the high-end finishes, including the oak-clad roof and modernised bathrooms, contributed to a cohesive and luxurious feel throughout the home. The completed project not only met our client’s functional needs but also enhanced the overall ambience and value of the property, making it a perfect blend of traditional elegance and modern living.

Special requirements
The brief for this project was to create a brighter, more inviting kitchen while retaining key existing features. We achieved this by designing a bespoke glass roof with exposed oak rafters, bringing natural light into the space while adding warmth and character. An oak-framed portal window was also installed, doubling as a comfortable window seat and architectural focal point.
In addition to the new kitchen extension, to meet the client’s request for excellent water pressure throughout, we installed a new Megaflo heating system with a break tank and booster pumps—ensuring high performance and comfort across the entire home.
